StarFish Seabed Imaging Systems are now shipped with a 20m towing cable as standard. However, with the introduction of the 452F and 990F sonar heads, their inline sub-sea 'Impulse' connector allows the towing cable to be interchanged.
The 50m cable option is a StarFish accessory, offered to provide flexibility on larger vessels. Where a large amount of cable is required on deck, the 50m option allows the system to be installed while still leaving sufficient cable length for flying the StarFish.
The 50m towing cable accessory is supplied on a rugged and compact reel that provides a quick and convenient method of storing the cable without introducing the twisting often seen when manually coiling (that in-turn could cause the sonar to tow at an angle).
Please note that this cable is not suitable for users with the now legacy 'D-Type connector' top-boxes.
